To mark the reissue of one of its iconic watches, TAG Heuer once again calls on Bonhomme to create an immersive, interactive page. We create a marine universe linked to the product that evokes the America's Cup, the famous nautical race. The focus is entirely on the iconic boat "the Intreprid", here modeled in 3D, from which the TAG Heuer Carrera Skipper takes its inspiration. We developed the ocean directly in WebGL and specifically optimized it so that the page runs at 60fps on a wide range of devices. The boat floats and pitches according to customizable wave movements, bringing added realism. We've worked out the different viewpoints to give a plunging effect to camera movements. Reacting to the scroll, these dynamic angles give the impression of viewing the images from a drone flying overhead.
The landing page is a clever blend of immersive universe and commercial presentation. On the one hand, a scene entirely designed and created in 3D, and on the other, information panels that present the product in a more rational way. Navigation is punctuated by transitions that naturally create a link between these two dimensions. The addition of a sub-menu based on sailing codes takes the experience to its logical conclusion.
The experience was first designed for mobile, the main source of traffic. We therefore optimized the modeling of the boat and the creation of the ocean in WebGL to offer a fluid experience regardless of the device.
